Premier Marine Inc., based in Wyoming, Minnesota, has announced the promotion of Lori Melbostad from Vice President of Operations to President.
The move will place Lori in charge of the company and all operations. Current President and founder, Bob Menne, will remain the CEO and will continue his involvement as a spokesperson for the company and an ambassador for the brand.
"I'm looking forward to a new opportunity,' says Melbostad. "There are few things I love more than boating and working within the marine industry, and I'm excited to be able to focus on providing high-quality products for our dealer network, consumers and boaters alike. Pontoons have seen a lot of growth over the past few years and I am looking forward to growing Premier into the future.'
Lori has 25 years of experience working with boat companies such as Premier, Palm Beach, Weeres and Forester Boats. She joined her current role leading operations for Premier Marine in 2001.
"Lori brought her leadership skills and helped grow internal operations over the last 13 model years,' Bob Menne says. "Her skill at managing all the business, combined with her 25 years of marine industry experience, has been a winning combination. We've done great work together, and now I'm looking forward to acting as an ambassador for Premier and promoting the boating industry.'
The change in leadership is effective immediately. Premier recently hosted its MY2015 dealer meeting showcasing its new pontoon product offering to dealers near its plant in Minnesota. The company refined its 17 models of pontoons and launched new products at the event.
"Working hand and hand with Lori over the years gives me great confidence in her ability to lead Premier into the future. Her relationships with dealers, employees, and our vendors will make it a natural transition,' Menne comments. "It will be great to have a strong leader, dedicated mother, and avid boater at the helm of the company.'
"There is nothing that I am more passionate about than leading our family of pontoon brands into the future,' Melbostad adds.
Premier Marine employs more than 325 workers to design, build and market 17 different models of luxury pontoons. The 21-year-old, family-owned and operated company sells its pontoons through boat dealers located throughout the United States and Canada.
