The 2010 Halifax International Boat Show, to be held February 18 to 21 at Exhibition Park, will feature special programs for exhibitors and consumers alike.
The Consumer VIP program, introduced last year, provides previous show attendees the opportunity to purchase a $25 VIP pass, good for entry on all four days of the show, plus admission to a special VIP evening. VIP visitors receive a unique badge and lanyard that clearly identifies them to exhibitors. This year's VIP night will feature a new live cooking demonstration sponsored by Molson Rickard's, with Chef Richard from ChefLive! using Rickard's beer in several different recipes.
“We have a database of visitors from previous years and we send out invitations to see if they would like to purchase a VIP package offering more value,” says Denise Miller, Publicist for show organizer Master Promotions, Saint John, NB. “Their badges and lanyards show that they are familiar with the industry. Our mandate is to get a qualified audience there and I believe we succeed because the exhibitors are pleased year after year.”
VIP guests are also invited to participate in an on-foot Poker Run held on the show floor by radio sponsor Q104. VIP ticket holders will need to listen for announcements during the day to find out where cards will be distributed at the show. A prize will be awarded to the person with the highest poker hand.
Show exhibitors are invited to attend a special reception on the opening evening of the show at 9 p.m. where the Atlantic Marine Trades Association (AMTA) will present the Service Person of the Year, Community Involvement and Milestone awards. “This year we're focused on re-engaging the membership to see what they want from AMTA and how we can all work together to make the organization stronger,” says Executive Director Hannah Munday.
