Fishing Holdings, the parent company of Ranger Boats, has announced it will invest US$13 million to expand its primary manufacturing facility in Flippin, Arkansas. The expansion is expected to create approximately 115 new jobs, bringing the total number of staff at the bass boat plant to approximately 540 people. No timetable for the work was announced, but construction is expected to commence shortly.
Founded in 1968 by Forrest L. Wood, Ranger Boats quickly became a household name among anglers throughout the US and eastern Canada. The company was acquired by Fishing Holdings, an affiliate of Platinum Equity, in February 2010. Ranger has focused a great deal of effort over the last several months integrating the production of Stratos Boats, including the Champion brand, into its facility in Flippin. After its recent acquisition of the Triton brand, the company also began transitioning the production of Triton Boats into the Flippin plant.
