Fishing Holdings' management team, consisting of President, Randy Hopper; Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Keith Daffron; and CFO, Mendel Hughes; has resigned from the company. Owned by Bass Pro Group since late 2014, Fishing Holdings builds the Ranger, Stratos and Triton fishing boat brands.
Despite the exodus of leadership at Fishing Holdings, the vast majority of the company's staff remains in place and ready to build boats.
Although no official statement has been issued, it's thought that the vision of the management team differed from that of Bass Pro Group, leading to the departures.
Fishing Holdings was sold by Platinum Equity to Bass Pro Group in December 2014. Platinum Equity originally acquired Ranger and Stratos in February 2010 after Genmar declared bankruptcy. Platinum Equity acquired Triton in July 2010 from Brunswick.
Forrest and Nina Wood founded Ranger in 1968. Hopper is Forrest Wood's son-in-law and Daffron is his grandson.
As a result of the change, a statement from Bass Pro Group detailing the company's plans moving forward is expected shortly.
