Sea Ray Recalls Approximately 150 Workers

Sea Ray, headquartered in Knoxville, TN, has recalled approximately 150 employees in East Tennessee at two of its Knoxville plants since January 1, 2010.

According to Dan Kubera, Brunswick's Director – Media Relations and Corporate Communications, 90 to 95 rehires occurred at Sea Ray's Knoxville plant and 50 to 55 at its Tellico (Vonore) plant.

“I don't want to give any false hopes that this is going to be any sort of snap-back bounce, this is going to be a slow recovery,” Kubera was reported as saying on knoxvillebiz.com.

The recall announcement follows Brunswick's release of its Fourth Quarter Results for 2009 on January 28, 2010. According to the report, Brunswick's total net sales of $657.3 million were down 22 percent versus 2008.

Sea Ray is one Brunswick Boat Group's 17 boat brands.
