Show Features Attract Visitors to Calgary Boat and Sportsmen's Show

Canadian National Sportsmen's Shows (CNSS), organizer of this year's Calgary Boat and Sportsmen's Show report that approximately 19,000 people attended the event. CNSS says that attendance was down 2.5 percent compared to 2013. The four-day event, held in February at the BMO Centre – Stampede Park, featured over 20 million dollars in marine products on display and hundreds of outdoor related exhibitors.

Special show attractions this year included an appearance by Troy Landry from the Swamp People television series on History. Seminars and presentations by Safari Jeff, Derek Hatfield (skipper of the Spirit of Canada), Brad Fenson, Claudio Ongaro, TJ Schwanky and Richard Mellon.

Another show feature included Chainsaw Jack, who sculpted numerous pieces of Canadian Poplar, which on completion were donated to the Alberta Hunter Education Instructors Association. The pieces will be used to raise funds for the association's cause and the programs it supports.
