This weekend, boat dealers and marina operators across Canada will have the opportunity to check out the latest new marine product at Stright-MacKay's annual trade show. The event will be held at Casino New Brunswick, in Moncton, New Brunswick from October 6 to 7.
This year marks Stright-MacKay's 65th anniversary, which the company has special untold of plans to celebrate at the event.
"We will have 80 booths representing between approximately 175 to 200 manufacturers,' says Peter Bennett, Stright-MacKay's General Manager. "The fall time of year, starting from now until mid November is when all our dealers will be placing their booking orders with us for spring delivery. Our customers will have the best opportunity to benefit from price incentives, discounts, payment terms and freight programs at the show, and can interact with the manufacturers at the event.'
Marine business representatives who attend will have the opportunity to see Stright's many exclusive Canadian marine lines as well as several of its exclusive North American lines. However, many marine businesses will be interested in restocking best-sellers from their existing inventory. Bennett says Stright-MacKay sent out the show's program over a week ago knowing that its customer base already has a good idea what they're planning to order at the event. "A lot of them will know what they're looking for,' he explains. "Upon arriving, they'll discuss what they're interested in purchasing with us and the manufacturers to explore the show incentives available based on order volume.'
As an added incentive for those in attendance, customers will be eligible to win a variety of prizes through event contests based on order quantities, past sales and random draw.
The show's venue at the Casino New Brunswick is new for Stright-MacKay, which has typically held the event in Halifax, Nova Scotia. "The intention is that the show will go back to Halifax,' says Bennett. However, he says that the Casino New Brunswick venue is very spacious, providing the company the opportunity to potentially grow by an additional 20 booths.
Presently, Stright-MacKay employs 31 people and operates from a 45,000 square-foot facility in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. The distributor offers its customers pricing and order capabilities via its online password-protected catalogue and prints a 475-page catalogue that includes over 15,000 marine products.
