Suzuki Marine Appoints New Vice President of Marine Operations

Suzuki Motor of America has appointed Toru Muraki President Suzuki Motor of America Inc. (SMAI). The company has also named Takuyo Sato its Executive Vice President of Marine Operations for SMAI. Sato will report directly to Muraki.

In his new position, Sato will focus on developing and introducing new products tailored to the US market, as well as building Suzuki's brand presence and market share.

In Late 2012, Sato joined SMAI as Marketing Director for the Marine Division. Sato will continue to lead the Marine Team, as well as take on additional corporate responsibilities with SMAI.

“Mr. Sato brings both knowledge and enthusiasm to his duties in the Marine Division,” said Tak Iwatsuki, Chairman of SMAI. “His rigorous approach to solving problems is greatly appreciated by both senior management and his staff. We are pleased to announce this next step in his career with Suzuki.”

Sato first joined Suzuki Motor Corporation as an engineer in the Marine Division, where he led the team responsible for developing Suzuki's 300hp outboard motor with Suzuki Select Rotation. This exclusive feature allows the boat builder or dealer to set either standard or counter rotation when the outboard is installed, eliminating the need for two separate models.
