The Store Mason's Chandlery, a long-time marine parts and supply business in Port Credit, Ontario has been renamed Fogh Boat Supplies.
On March 1, 2012, Morten Fogh purchased The Store Mason's Chandlery from Lori Mason. The 6,000 square-foot retail business was established in 1978 and offers more than 8,000 different marine products.
"After almost three years of operating the business as an Ontario numbered company using The Store Mason's Chandlery's name, I felt it was the right time to make the next transition within the business,' commented Morten Fogh, President of Fogh Boat Supplies. "During the first season in 2012, nothing changed within The Store. I was careful to keep the look of the store the same. The staff remained the same and it was business as usual when customers came in. Slowly we moved the front counter and then the shelving to update the presentation. The name change is the final ‘big' move in the ownership change and allows us to use the Fogh brand name that has a good reputation and is well recognized within the industry and marine community.'
The store continues to be staffed by Manager, Mike Paulssen and Assistant Manager, Dave Graff as well as other long-time employees (Allan, Jon, Heather and Colleen). Fogh also says the business' product selection, value, pricing and expertise remain the same as well as the offering of seminars and events.
Morten Fogh also owns Fogh Marine, another marine store in the west end of Toronto. Although both stores are marine focused, each caters to its own customer base. Fogh Marine specializes in performance sailing, small boats, kayaks, fishing kayaks and SUP products, while Fogh Boat Supplies carries all the necessary hardware and accessories for those with larger sail or powerboats.
Each store is independently operated but work together to maximize efficiencies.
