Toronto Boat Show Raised Nearly $40,000 for Charity

Canadian Boat Shows, producer of the Toronto International Boat Show (TIBS), presented cheques to the three charities supported by the show's Preview Day event.

Each year, Canadian Boat Shows hosts the event at the Enercare Centre in Toronto, a day prior to the show's official opening in January. Funds are generated at the event through ticket sales as well as silent and live auctions.

Canadian Boat Shows reports raising $39,335.47 for 2016, which will be divided between Ontario Sailing's Access BOOM program, Toronto Star's Fresh Air Fund and CNIB Lake Joseph Camp.

Over the course of 15 years, TIBS' Preview Day has raised more than $748,000 for local charities. According to organizers, this year's event experienced a 33 percent boost in attendance compared to last year's Preview Day.
