Transport Canada's Small Vessel Reminder

Transport Canada has posted a reminder on its website regarding the requirements of small vessels sold in Canada that use or are designed to use a motor.

According to the Canadian Shipping Act (2001) and Small Vessel Regulations, all small vessels using a motor must meet construction requirements set out in the Small Vessel Regulations; have a Canadian Compliance Notice affixed; and have a Declaration of Conformity prepared by the manufacturer or importer of each vessel model.
