Women Making Waves At Paris Marine

In an effort to grow participation in boating, Peterborough, Ontario dealership Paris Marine is hosting a pair of special Ladies Day instructional events in June and July.

“A lot of boating events right now are focused around men, so we decided to offer our Ladies Days, which piggyback onto the existing Women Making Waves events programs we deliver with Malibu Boats,” says Paris Marine General Manager and third-generation owner, Deborah Paris. “A lot of women come to their cottage in the summer, but rarely do they take the boat out, and we want to change that because we prefer them to be in the boats instead of on the docks. Driving a wakeboard boat is a little different, and it can be a little intimidating at first, so we want to familiarize them with the basics and get them out on the water.”

Each full-day event will start with an on-shore component where participants will  rotate through four different seminars stations, covering the basics of loading, launching, towing, and on-water operation. “We take a mid-day break to give the ladies a chance to speak with the safety instructors or write their operator card exam right on site with BoatSmart! Canada,” says Paris. “Then we head over to Young's Point and jump in the ski boat, take a tour around the lake, overview some basic operating instructions, do some wake surfing lessons, and a some other fun stuff.”

Events are scheduled for June 19 and July 17 at Paris Marine's location in Peterborough, Ontario. “At the moment we have registration in-store, but will have an online registration mechanism up shortly,” notes Paris.
