Women On The Water Wraps Up Successful Season

Women on the Water (WOW) concluded its 2010 season this month at the Port Credit Yacht Club, Mississauga, ON, when approximately 40 women attended a two-evening seminar to learn about boating safety and boat handling.

Since 2008, an estimated 400 women have attended a WOW seminar, race or boating event, says founder Lori Mason, who will be presenting seminars for women at the Toronto International Boat Show in January. “I've had so much fun this year introducing so many new women to boating, and helping forge new relationships among women boaters” says Mason. “In February we will have a one-day seminar at the Toronto Hydroplane and Sailing Club and in March, we'll have another at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club. I've been approached by a couple of other local boating clubs who also want to host a seminar. We hope to fit them all in.”

Robertson & Robertson Yacht Insurance (Skipper's Plan) returns as a WOW sponsor for 2011, along with The Store/Mason's Chandlery. At each WOW sponsored event, one lucky participant will win a gift certificate for The Store and at the close of the season, all participants for the year are eligible to win a grand prize courtesy of Robertson & Robertson Yacht Insurance (Skipper's Plan).
