Keswick Resident Receives $10,000 Towards Boat Purchase

Each year, Canadian Boat Shows presents the winner of its ‘Buy a Boat and Win’ contest an oversized novelty cheque for $10,000. For one fortunate new boat owner, the contest rewards them that dollar value towards a purchase they made at Canada’s largest consumer boat show, The Toronto International Boat Show (TIBS). Canadian Boat Shows produces the annual event, held at the Enercare Centre.

Not only does the contest offer consumers a little extra incentive for “putting a little summer into their winter” – as the show’s motto goes – it also provides our industry valuable insight into the general state of boat sales at Canada’s most significant recreational boat show by tracking approximate dealer sales statistics.

On April 8, TIBS Manager, Cynthia Hare, presented Erin Terveld, of Keswick, Ontario, a cheque for $10,000, which will go towards her show purchase, a 16-foot Bayliner from Quinn’s Marina in Keswick, Ontario.

Based on dealer participation, The Buy a Boat and Win contest indicates that at least 1,082 boats were sold by dealers at this year’s show.
