Volvo Penta Turns to YouTube to Promote New Tech


In conjunction with the launch of its latest product offers, Volvo Penta is releasing a series of short online films entitled: Volvo Penta Boating Challenge. The purpose of the clips is to demonstrate the benefits of its newest products.

Each episode features a set of challenges designed to test the full capabilities of the product in question. It is then up to Hanna Ljungqvist, Volvo Penta product expert and co-host of the series, to prove that Volvo Penta can deliver on its promises.

“When it comes to boating, if you really want to experience a new product, there is no substitute to being out on the water and seeing it in action for yourself,” says Hanna Ljungqvist. “When filming the Volvo Penta Boating Challenge, we’ve tried to replicate this experience. We don’t bombard the viewer with facts and figures – we just show them what each product can do.”

The series consists of four episodes, which focus on Volvo Penta’s IPS, e-Key Remote and Battery Management System, Glass Cockpit and Volvo Penta’s latest joystick technology.

“All our products are developed according to our philosophy of ‘easy boating’ and the Volvo Penta Boating Challenge shows how much easier and fun operating a boat can be,” says Stefan Carlsson, head of Volvo Penta’s Marine Diesel segment. “As an industry we need to expand into new markets and demographics, and the key to achieving that is to make boating more accessible.”
